This summer has been a fun-filled, productive and rewarding adventure at the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

I am pleased to announce that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) hosted an unprecedented “Commitment to Communities” Forum and Expo on June 27, 2019 at The College of New Jersey.

In the event of a formal Governor’s proclamation of a disaster and Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) concurrence, it is important to understand how to access Emergency Relief funds provided through the FHWA.

Budgetary planning is always one of the most challenging jobs for local governments. Last week, Governor Murphy and I announced that we are accelerating the Municipal Aid grants cycle to now be able to announce grant recipients by November ahead of the annual budget cycle.

First impressions are often our only impressions so the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) takes a vigorous proactive approach to not only ensuring that our roadways are safe and well maintained throughout the year, but that they are aesthetically pleasing and present our state in the best light.

Most people associate the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) with the infrastructure construction projects that are emblematic of the agency’s mission.

Last year I announced an initiative called “Commitment to Communities” that highlighted the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s pledge to ensure local governments succeeded in delivering transportation projects that improve safety and quality of life in our communities without unduly burdening local property taxpayers.
